How It Works
Chameleon Spatial Experiences are tutorials where the content captured by the creator can adapt to the viewer's environment. Chameleon is creating a new way to capture and experience content, while staying compatible with your current tools and workflows. Below we identify how this system works through Capture, Processing, and Distribution.
Capture — Content may be captured through text, video, spatial video, or a combination of these methods.
Text — Traditional text-based manuals identifying the steps to follow in a process, the tools and materials required, and detailed product diagrams.
Video — Guided video tutorials captured from the creator's point of view, providing a step-by-step guide through a process. Unlike traditional content platforms, Chameleon encourages creators to capture and upload the raw footage from the capture.
Spatial Video — Guided video tutorials captured from the creator's point of view using a spatial video capture device (e.g. Apple Vision Pro, Galaxy XR, etc.). Chameleon encourages creators to use this format for optimal performance of experiences.
Processing — To turn captured content into a Chameleon Spatial Experience, the content is processed to understand the task, including the tools and materials required, and the steps to follow in the process. Processing is performed by Chameleon automatically upon upload and may be edited by the creator to improve the experience.
Task Breakdown — The task that is performed in the tutorial will be broken down into a series of steps that the viewer can follow. The length of a step depends on the time and complexity it requires.
Tools — Tools are the items that the creator uses to assist in performing the task (e.g. screwdriver, hammer, etc.). Aside from the tools used in the initial capture, creators can define substitutes for each tool used.
Materials — Materials are the items that are involved in assembling a product or structure within a task (e.g. screws, nails, etc.). Aside from the materials used in the initial capture, creators can define substitutes for each material used.
Distribution — Chameleon Spatial Experiences are distributed to viewers through our mobile app. Through the app, viewers can browse and perform experiences posted by creators. There are also tools available for creators to view the performance of their experiences with their audience.
Viewer Discovery — Viewers can discover experiences and creators through search or recommendations. To show what each experience covers, a short-form video gives viewers a quick preview.
Viewer Execution — When a viewer selects an experience, they will interact with it through their smart glasses or headset. The experience will follow the steps set by the creator, but its visuals will adapt to the viewer's environment. The experience will track which step the viewer is on, and may be paused to resume later. The viewer may interact with the experience through the microphones on their smart glasses.
Accessible on Any Device — All smart glasses and headsets with a display and forward-facing cameras are supported. This includes, but is not limited to: Apple Vision Pro, Galaxy XR, Meta Ray-Ban Display, etc.
Track Content Performance — Creators can track the performance and revenue generated from their experiences over time. This allows creators to make data-driven decisions to improve the performance of existing experiences and plan which experiences to develop in the future.
